"It was great to get on the training pitch and I came through it OK" Gabbidon told the Echo.
"My personal hope is that I can play again within two or three weeks, at least for the reserves, and then make another assessment from there. It's been frustrating for for me and I am keen to help the lads during the second division run in as soon as possible."
Lennie kept a more cautious tone
"A realistic target is for Danny to play for the reserves. But we are not saying that's certain. Our medical staff have done a fantastic job and Danny is continuing to make progress. He has gradually stepped us up his training and yesterday was more physically demanding that it has been."
This is the first positive news on Daniel Gabbidon in the 4 months he has been out. Let's hope the day he pulls on a City shirt again is much sooner rather than later.
