On a night when Portsmouth took Sunderlands place in the Premiership Cardiff were given the incentive to take over the favourites position for the second promotion place to Division 1.

Crewe's draw tonight against Bristol City gives Cardiff City the chance to move into second place with a win at Peterborough on Wednesday night.

Bristol City must surely now concentrate on the play offs after failing to beat Crewe. A Cardiff win at London Rd will see City in second place by a point and 6 points ahead of Bristol.

If there was ever a time for a Cardiff City team to stand up and be counted it's now.

CHristian Roberts scored the all important leveller for Bristol after Lunt's penalty early in the game.
