Craig Bellamy launched his new book yesterday called GoodFella.
An honest look into the life of a man who was never far from controversy through his playing career but has matured into an ambassador for Cardiff City over the last 12 months culminating in helping take Cardiff City to the Premier league.
At the launch at Cardiff City Stadium Bellamy gaves his thoughts on his manager Malky Mackay and the coming Premier League season.
Bellamy expects Malky to be here for the long run despite his name being linked with the managers job at Everton.
"By getting the club up, it wouldn't make sense to him or anyone else to then leave for somewhere else" said Bellamy.
"I am sure he is here for the long run as well.
"Being linked [with other clubs] is just a great compliment, not just for the manager but the players too," added the City striker.
"Everybody wants to be linked because it means you are doing something right.
"I am sure he is fully aware of the job he has here.
"This is a club on the up but it is going to be a tough year, there are no two ways about it."
Bellamy also has praise for his manager for the help and support he's given him this past year.
"He has been remarkable for me as a person throughout the whole season," said Bellamy.
"I speak to him a lot, not just for playing, but personal stuff as well.
"He has been outstanding, he really has. I knew him as a player, I played with him and to watch him evolve and become a manager has been brilliant.
"He has been such an asset to the football club and it's been good to watch it."
As for the new season Bellamy knows it's going to be diffeent than previous Premier league campaigns he's played in.
“It’s going to be interesting for me. It’s going to be different.
“Throughout all my career I’ve been chasing Europe. I’ve never had to worry about survival.
“I’ve always gone into seasons thinking these are the teams we’ve got to beat to get into Europe or to get into the Champions League.
“This time is going to be different. I’m going in there thinking ‘We can’t be down there.’
“We can’t be in the bottom three because we want to stay in the league for as long as we can so that the club can go from strength to strength.”
