Lord Mayor Gill Bird said: "Visitors to Cardiff will not be able to ignore the fact the Bluebirds will be in the FA Cup final. The team's success has really boosted Cardiff and the rest of Wales too."
An attempt was made this morning to hang it on the front of St Davids Hall but it was too big to be safely secured.
Mike explains the three reasons for St Davids Hall not being sutitable.
1. Banner too large to be fixed in a flat position (don't want to fold it as you lose some of the visual effect).
2. Anti pigeon spikes would damage banner
3. St Davids Hall frontage contains too many angles and is not straight enough
"I have now asked for all those involved in the decision making process to offer alternative civic locations," Mike Continued. "I took the opportunity to 'throw in' my idealistic and optimistic opinion that Cardiff Castle would be the prime location, in all related terms such as large, flat, square frontage, huge publicity opportunities for the City of Cardiff and the sheer volume of people who look at the castle every day."
So come on cardiff Council, the Castle walls would make an ideal place to hang the flag.
