And it seems Gary Speed has watched Turner play for City with the FAW planning to make an official approach to the City centre back to discuss his eligibilty.
City boss Malky Mackay thinks the FAW should act quickly to get their man.
"The size and population of Wales, like Scotland, you need every good player you can get," said Mackay.
"So if there is a link and an availability of players of a good standard then great.
"I think it is necessary countries do their homework and manage to check out players.
"And if it was me, I'd cap him tomorrow to make sure they get him."
Turner will line up for Cardiff alongside Mark Hudson at the Madejski today as City face Reading.
