Cornelius: 'I never met Tan'

C:WindowsTempphpBBA5.tmpIt was reported a few weeks ago that Vincent Tan likened Danish striker Andreas Cornelius to a Toyata car. Tan wanted Malky Mackay to buy a Bentley but the Cardiff owner felt he had been given a runaround in more ways than one.

Now back at Copenhagen Cornelius has answered back.

“It just shows that he (Tan) does not understand football, you can't compare footballers with cars.

“You don't know what you get in the same way as when you buy a car.

“There are many other factors that come into play, so you can't just compare it that way."

"I've never met him, so it must be for his own good.”

The 20 year old striker has moved back to Denmark for a fraction of the price Cardiff paid for him (and on a fraction of the wages aparrantly)  is looking forward to playing in a league that he has excelled in.

"It's great to be back, I think.

“Now I can just focus on getting everything back on track.

“Of course, the Super League is a step backwards compared to the Premier League, but purely in terms of development it is not a step back, but more a step forward for me."
