James Collins and Willie Boland are both set to miss the opening games of 2005. Collins was replaced in the first half at Watford yesterday and Willie Boland had to finish the game as City, by the time he was injured, had used all three subs.
With Paul Parry and Joe Ledley also injured there will be a swift return into the side for Graham Kavanagh when City travel to Derby for a midday kick off on New Years Day, that game is followed by a real relegation battle with Nottingham Forest on Monday at Ninian Park.
Will Lennie make changes other than the ones he's forced to? If it went to form then Lennie will just replace like with like. Page in for Collins and Kavanagh in for Boland.
Other options come from the returning Darren Williams, will Rhys Weston keep him out of the side? How about Tony Vidmar covering the centre back position alongside Gabbidon with Kavanagh and Inamoto in central midfield. McAnuff and Langley could play the wide roles in a 4 - 4 - 2 rather than some whacky system that saw us manage one deflected shot on target yesterday.
I thought Page was struggling yesterday but the Echo made him man of the match. Vidmar they said could be pleased with his effort when from where I was watching he never made a decent pass. We are poor with Kavanagh in the team but dreadful without him, at least he passes to a blue shirt even if it's sideways or backwards most times.
