Clock ticking towards start of new season

City travel to Ipswich this Saturday to start the 2005 / 2006 Championship campaign. Kick off is at 3:00pm at Portman Rd with tickets on sale to season ticket holders and members from the Ninian Park ticket office.

Dave Jones has kept people guessing as to his likely starting line up by involving upto 16 players in yesterday's freindly against West Brom and by leaving a couple of possible starters in Jeff Whitely and Kevin Cooper on the bench.

The new Captain
Personally I think we'll have a defence of Neil Alexander in goal with a back four of Barker, Purse, Cox and Darlington.

In midfield we are dependent on injury and fitness. Will Jason Koumas be ready to start? Will Whitley and Cooper be fit? It's anyone's guess at the moment for the front men. If we make no signings I would guess at Jerome and Lee but a new player could go straight into the line up.

At least we have selection problems, a little over two weeks ago and we didn't have more than a dozen senior outfield players.

It's a tough opening week. By a week Friday night we will have played three games. We could be top, or bottom of the league. Don't forget the Watford game on Friday week is live on Sky. It's not a Saturday game anymore but the Friday night.

So here goes, thanks to everyone for supporting the website throughout the summer. Through good times and bad, and we've seen some bad days. Raise your glass to a successful campaign.
