Cardiff won from a shortlist that also included Dagenham & Redbridge, Huddersfield Town, Oxford United, Reading FC and Shrewsbury Town.
The Family Stand at the new stadium was praised for it's efforts with PS3 consoles and cartoon images of former players as attractions on the concourse of the Family Stand to add to the matchday experience.
The judge's panel said that, "The quality, detail and innovation on show in Cardiff's family experience reflects the club's investment in consulting families and making a trip to the stadium an irresistible family destination."
Greg Clarke, the Chairman of The Football League, said: "The Football League Awards 2011 has given us the chance to recognise and reward the achievements of those on and off the pitch.The evening has been another huge success, and I congratulate all the winners."
Cardiff City Media Manager Barrie McAuliffe said, "The award is the product of a lot of hard work and dedication from many people connected to the club, including some excellent club staff, supporters groups and commercial partners, all of whom wanted to highlight Cardiff City as a progressive and family friendly club within the local community.
