City wait on Vidmar

Lennie was hoping for a call from Tony Vidmar or his agent last Friday.

"I'm not chasing him now" Lennie told Wales on Sunday.

"I expected to have heard from his agent by now but I have not. If I don't hear anything by Monday you would have to say there is a severe doubt."

The impression at the end of last week was that Vidmar had until the end of the weekend to get back to Lennie. The Scotsman, the leading Sunday paper North of the border leads today with the headline

"Vidmar closes in on Cardiff deal" but the rest of the story offers nothing we don't already know. Lennie has put an offer to Vidmar and it's a final offer from City, it's up to the player.

Vidmar, primararly a defender, can play any role. He is 33 so I would imagine is lining up his last major transfer. He was linked to a £1m move to Middlesbrough a year ago and played over 20 games in the SPL last season. He is a highly experienced Australian international with nearly 50 caps.

Hopefully Mobday will bring updated news on Vidmar and the completion of the Gareth Whally signing.
