The decision has left the west Wales side diasappointed although Cardiff City have said they will re-arrange the fixture for another date.
Haverfordwest official Barr Vaughan admitted: “It is a big disappointment and a little embarrassing because we have been promoting the match heavily.”
City are playing two games today, the first team at Shrewsbury and a reserve XI at Carmarthen but with a number of injuries the club felt it unable to field a third squad tomorrow.
Mark Denham, Cardiff City's Head of Communications, told the West Walian Bluebirds,
"We regret to confirm that our U21 side are now unable to fulfil Sunday’s fixture at Haverfordwest AFC.
"We’d like to apologise to Haverfordwest and City supporters for the short notice of this announcement, but look forward to re-arranging the game when possible.
"Our best wishes to Haverfordwest as they continue their pre-season preparations."
