"I said to Mikkel that it didn't matter if he had been away on loan. If he comes back in pre-season and plays well enough, then he will be good enough to get back into our side. It's as simple as that," Pearce told the Manchester Evening News.
"If he wants to sit tight here and see how things go, then that is fine by me. I am not ruling any player out, especially one who is young and with a good attitude like Mikkel has.
"He did well at Wolves and that has obviously alerted sides in the Championship. I have not put a line under Mikkel's name and said he isn't good enough for this club by any means."
