City line up new training facility

Sam Hammam has been searching for a new training facility for Cardiff City and it appears the search is over. The superb facilities at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel will be used by the City in a 2 year deal said to be worth over £50,000.

The City players will start using the complex when they come back for pre season training early next month. City will also base youth, reserve and ladies team training at the hotel. The WRU are already based there and the complex has been used by visiting football teams to Cardiff including Blackburn, Arsenal and Argentina.

The Hotel will add to the existing indoor training pitch by constructing outdoor football facilities and City are expected to use the venue on most evenings.

Their indoor pitch is approx 3/4 size of a full size pitch and is artifical but is incredibly realistic. I played on the pitch yesterday, totally unrelated to the City story breaking. Neil Alexander needn't worry. I was good but not that good.

City have been using University facilities and were hoping to make a site their own but no suitable venue has been found. The latest move will be a big boost for City who have struggled in the bad weather to train properly.
