After taking a pummelling in the first half to a Derby side that had 75% possession the shock waves that hit the iPro stadium when Cardiff scored two goal in 3 minutes were felt all over Derbyshire.
From nowhere Aron Gunnarsson (51) and Peter Whittingham (55) scored to give City a shock lead. Whittingham's strike a cracker from inside the corner of the area.
But Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon could only watch on as City were unable to hold onto their lead and concede goals to Jordan Ibe (61) and Craig Bryson (84).
The point lifts managerless Cardiff upto 16th place.
Before the game any realistic fan would have seen a draw at Derby a good point. It still is but losing a two goal lead for the second Saturday in a row is frustrating.
There were plus points with the defensive performance from Bruno Manga impressive and Peter Whittingham still has the eye for a quality goal.
