The design of the stadium means that both sides cannot have an equal amount of tickets. The North side of the ground at one point only has two levels as it is joined to the Cardiff RFC ground.

It's not by chance though that Cardiff have the larger South section of the Stadium.

QPR Chief Exec David Davies explained to the Rangers official website

"First, this is a decision that was taken following a meeting between the police and the Football League at which neither club were present.

"The main reason for the existence of an uneven distribution is the design of the stadium. We have been allocated the North End which actually has only two tiers, whilst the remainder of the stadium has three.

"In simple terms this means that the stadium is not symmetrical and it is therefore impossible to divide up each half of the stadium equally, in terms of seat numbers and stewarding.

"The decision to allocate the North end to Rangers was taken for security reasons, primarily based on the flow of supporters in and out of the city. It is unfortunate, but it is a decision that has been taken completely out of our hands.

"Nevertheless we have taken the full allocation of tickets we are entitled to and although I appreciate any frustration amongst Rangers supporters, I'm sure I don't need to worry about which set of fans will be creating the better atmosphere inside the stadium."

Don't be so sure on the atmosphere Mr Davies. We've been known to sing a bit.
