There is still an offer in for Kris Boyd but City are waiting for talks to happen in Glasgow between the player and his manager, Walter Smith.
"We have offered Rangers £2.5m and will not be increasing that at this particular stage. I think it would be very silly of us to up the bid while the manager and the player are still talking about staying," said Peter Ridsdale.
But in the meantime City are pursuing other options. It's reported that one striker has been given the tour by Dave Jones of the new stadium and training facilities and the other is in negotiations with the club.
Peter Ridsdale is promising a busy time.
"We are still working very hard in the market and things are moving well. Next week will be the height of activity with regards to players." he said.
