Cardiff have applied to the Football League to change three fixtures. The games all clash with Wales rugby internationals at the Millennium Stadium. City v Chesterfield on Saturday November 23rd clashes with Wales v New Zealand. City v Plymouth on Saturday February 22nd clashes with Wales v England and City v Mansfield on Saturday March 22nd clashes with Wales v Ireland. Permission is expected to be granted to move each game to the previous Friday evening.
City may also ask for the home game against Huddersfield on Saturday December 28th to be moved to Sunday December 29th to allow maximum recovery time after the Boxing Day game at Luton.
Several other City matches could be affected by Wales football internationals. With Robert Earnshaw and Daniel Gabbidon likely to feature in the Wales team this coming season it would only take one more call up to the full squad or the U21 squad to allow City the option of calling off games that are scheduled at the same time as the Wales games. City are due to play at Plymouth on Sep 7th, the same day Wales plays in Finland. Wales v Italy on October 16th could affect the Cardiff v Wycombe game on October 12th. Wales are away in Azerbaijan on November 20th, just 4 days after the FA Cup 1st round weekend. Wales' home game against Azerbaijan is on March 29th, the same day we are due to play away at Wycombe.
Of course the police could also have a say in the changing of fixtures as well with some matches possibly having kick off times changed or even moved to different days.
For the moment the only changes applied for are those listed above.
