"I have seen it a few times now and it was a clumsy challenge but there was no malice in it," said Jones.
"We have appealed and will have to wait and see what the FAW make of what happened. It is in the hands of the gods now."
Should the appeal be unsuccessful then Purse will miss the FA Cup Final.
