Reports suggest that Keane has come back with the £5m bid required to trigger a release in Chopra's contract.
Chopra signed for £500,000 last summer so the club has made a huge profit on the player that scored over 20 goals in the Championship last season. That's of little consolation though to the fans who can add Chopra to the recent names of Earnshaw and Jerome as we again cash in on our top strikers.
"I am sorry to see him go, everybody in the camp is," City manager Dave Jones told the Echo.
"But at the end of the day there is a price for every player. The money could go on to make us stronger.
"This is good business for us and after all, we are in a business. And for Michael it means Premiership football - we cannot stop him. We wish him all the best with Sunderland."
