"It is his ankle," confirmed Cardiff boss Dave Jones. "We'll have him off for X-rays. The ankle was twisted after a poor tackle."
The striker will have scans today on suspected ligament damage that will see him out for a couple of weeks. He'll miss the trip to Peterborough tomorrow and the Champonship clash with Portsmouth on the weekend. There is a break then for internationals so Chopra will hope to be back for the home game v Hull on September 11th.
Chopra tried to play on but was forced off to be replaced by Chris Burke. It was the third injury setback of the day. Darcy Blake hurt his ankle in the warm up and could miss Wales' trip to Montenegro. He was replaced by Adam Matthews in the starting line up.
Kevin McNaughton lasted just 18 minutes before a hamstring tweak saw him replaced by new signing Lee Naylor.
"It was good that we had options among our substitutes," said Jones. Only a couple of weeks ago it was me and a dog on the bench."
