• Chelsea against Cardiff is one of three Premier League against Championship ties in the fifth round.
• The Londoners are one of nine top-flight sides still bidding for the Cup; the Welsh club are one of five survivors from the second tier.

Head-to-head
• There's nothing to choose between these clubs in the head-to-head standings. Both have won 15 of their 40 competitive meetings, with 10 drawn.
• Cardiff won their most recent meeting, 2-1 in the third round of the League Cup in October 1986.
FA Cup records and best performances
• Cardiff hold a 100% FA Cup record over Chelsea, winning on both the previous occasions they have been drawn together.
• The quarter-final replay victory in 1927 was the most notable, as it was one step on the Bluebirds famous victory run, when they became the only non-English club to lift the trophy.
CHELSEA
Current form
• Everton ended Chelsea's 13-match undefeated run, with a 2-1 victory over them at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
• The Blues have won their last six at home, and have not been beaten in any game at Stamford Bridge this season.
• They are undefeated in 36 competitive matches at the Bridge, since Arsenal's 2-1 Premier League triumph on 30 November 2008.
FA Cup form
• The cup holders have reached at least the quarter-finals in each of the last four years, and have not been knocked out at the fifth round stage since Newcastle eliminated them in February 2005.
• Their only defeat in 20 FA Cup ties was to Barnsley of the Championship in the quarter-finals in March 2008; the last time they were ousted by lower league opposition.
CARDIFF CITY
Current form
• Won five of the last six in all competitions.
• Avoided defeated in nine of their 10 league and cup games since Plymouth pulled off a 1-0 victory at the New Cardiff Stadium on Boxing Day.
• That one subsequent loss was 5-1 to Newcastle, in their last away game on 5 February.
FA Cup form
• Only reached the quarter-finals once since winning the Cup in 1927. That was in the season before last, when they were runners-up to Liverpool.
• Middlesbrough were the last Premier League club Cardiff eliminated from the competition, in the quarter-finals in 2008.
