Evans spent time on loan at Norwich last season and scored goals. His best probably the effort at Ninian Park that earned a win for the Canaries over City. He also made his Wales debut in Iceland last week scoring the winning goal in Reykjavik.
With Sven Goran Eriksson's future in doubt at Eastlands it could be that a new regime might allow youngsters like Evans to be loaned out while they sign experienced players.
Still it's just speculation at the moment.
