Championship preview

Only two clubs can knock us off top spot before we play on Sunday. Birmingham City are level on points with Cardiff so a point at Elland Rd against Leeds would be enough to takes the Blues go above us. Maybe though Leeds will respond after the sacking of Kevin Blackwell.

They have appointed John Carver as caretaker manager. Who? I hear you ask, well John was a Cardiff City player for 14 games in the 1985 / 86 season under Alan Durban. Can he do his old club a favour, and himself one at the same time.

The other team that could overtake us is Burnley. The Clarets are in 3rd place but they would have to win by at least three goals to get past us. Cardiff can put it all to rights then on Sunday by beating Southend and making sure we keep top spot for another week.
