The draw was announced by the Football League today.
City are in the Southern section where there are 18 matches. Likewise there are 18 games in the Northern section as well.
The 36 winning teams will progress to round 2 where the 12 Premiership clubs who are not involved in Europe will enter the competition.
The second round is not regionalised and will produce 24 winning teams. They will be joined by the 8 remaining Premiership teams in round 3.
