For the second year in a row City's pre Christmas home game has fallen foul of the weather. Last year's frozen pitch took out the Leicester game and this year it's snow causing chaos at the CCS.
The club sent home staff today forcing the closure of the club shop and ticket office and the stadium complex was closed because of the levels of snow.
The Cardiff Council Safety Advisory Group had the final say after inspecting the area.
City Chief Exec Gethin Jenkins told the official website
"It's disappointing for all of us that the match has to have been called off following advice of the Safety Advisory Group and the Football League, but we have to place the safety of supporters as our primary concern in such difficult weather conditions."
A new date will be announced in due course.
The Cardiff Blues are due to play at the CCS on Sunday (a decision will be made on that match on Saturday) with Cardiff City's next match a week Sunday, December 26th, against Coventry City.
