Cardiff City's position is still in the balance. Can Dave Jones rebuild or are we seeing the last days of the Jones reign as manager?
City's form over the last 12 months is shocking. 1 win from 7 attempts at home this season means the club is close on falling into the relegation zone. Failure to win again tonight is unacceptable.
"You've got to stay strong mentally and physically and the last home game one or two players felt the pressure," said Jones (who again appears to be blaming it all on the players and not taking any responsibility himself.)
"Cardiff are not meeting my expectations and that's the important one at the moment.
"But these players have to realise that we have an opportunity here with the squad that we have to start performing the way we know we are capable of.
"We go into the game with a point so we keep a clean sheet and score a goal and it doesn't take a genius to work out what happens after that."
Jones can again use Kasper Schmeichel after he was ineligable for the trip to Liverpool and Trevor Sinclair is available after injury.
In my view Jones needs to drop a couple of players like McPhail and either Fowler or Hasselbaink to change the way we play. Our predictability at the moment is making us easy to play against.
Tom Soares is in line for a return to the Crystal Palace squad after serving a three-match ban following his dismissal in Neil Warnock's first game in charge at Blackpool, and could go straight back into the starting line-up.
Skipper Carl Fletcher is doubtful after suffering a dead leg at Scunthorpe, while youngster Lee Hills suffered a back injury prior to kick-off.
Mark Kennedy made a surprise return at Glanford Park following a calf injury and will hope to keep his place in midfield, while winger Paul Ifill is close to a comeback from a hamstring injury.
Striker Paul Dickov (hamstring) and defender Danny Butterfield (buttock) are still missing.
Warnock is trying to resurrect a move for Stoke defender Clint Hill, having let Leon Cort move in the opposite direction.
