Keeper saves Ross' penalty
City entertained Spanish side Valencia in the final pre season friendly before the new season kicks off next Saturday.

The match, played in front of just over 13,000 supporters, lacked the visitors star David's. Both Villa and Silva did not feature as the Spaniards won with a goal in each half.

Nikola Zigic gave Valencia the lead before Spain's Joaquin sealed the victory in the second half.

Ross McCormack missed a penalty when the score was 0 - 1.

The spot kick was won by new triallist Vincent Pericard, who was released by Stoke this summer.

The new "big" screen was used today and the TV's underneath the stands were also in use. A big thumbs up for the screens on the concourses. Mixed eviews for the screen inside the stadium with some complaints it wasn't big enough.

Fans generally seemed happier with the quality of the tannoy.

City lost Jay Bothroyd to an injury in the 22nd minute and Joe Ledley took a knock late on. Hopefully both will be fit for the Scunthorpe game on Saturday. How many times will Valencia be classed as less important to Scunthorpe in the footballing world?
