Kav and Thorne both spurned chances early on in a game of few chances for City. Proudlock scored the only goal on 84 minutes after a slip by Gabbidon, and Earnie also had a half chance at the death but Wolves had it won.

City also used a number of substitutes with Croft, Earnshaw, Hamilton, Leo FW, Prior and Legg all getting a run out.
