Dominic Salanke finshed a crisp Bournemouth move in the first half to give the visitors the lead with Wilson coming closest for City when he fired wide before half time.

An entertaining game burst into life with a stunning save from Alex Smithies to keep it at 0 - 1 before Wilson went close again with a piledriver free kick that hit the bar.

Will Vaulks' header was tipped over by Asmir Begovic but the Bosnian was beaten soon after when Wilson made no mistake from 17 yards as he sweetly finished Junior Hoilett's pin point pass.

Bournemouth saw a free kick smash off the bar as both sides looked for a winner. The final drama came when Smithies dived bravely to deny Adam Smith in added time. The challenge saw Smith hobble off injured but the bravery of the City keeper cemented his top performance on the night.

Next up Cardiff welcome Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough to CCS on Saturday, ko 3:00pm.
