Bowen was released by City last season and at 32 he want to stay settled with his family in South Wales.
"I will be 32 next month and although league clubs came in for me, I am at a stage in my life when I don't want to uproot my family again and it is good to be coming to a club that is going forward." Bowen told the Argus.
Scott Young had to retire from full time professional football becuase of injury. The Rhondda lad is still working with youth development at Cardiff City.
