Jay has told Sky Sports he just wants to get back to playing after injury and his aim is to get Cardiff City promoted.
"I'm trying to not let all the speculation affect me, the only things on my mind are to get back from this hamstring niggle and help Cardiff try and reach the Premiership," he said.
"I can't wait for the transfer window to shut so we can all try and get this club to the Premiership.
"I'm concentrating on my football and am letting my agent deal with the other stuff.
"It's really important for me not to get distracted from the football and make sure I am fully focused on the job in hand.
"My agent has been speaking with the club over the last few months and we are still talking.
"I've made over 100 starts since joining here which is the most I've ever played in a two-year period so the odd niggle is gonna happen but I feel good and will be back to help the boys as soon as possible.
"We were so close last year and it hurt, the fans are giving us great support and we have to try our hardest to get over the finishing line this season."
