And he hopes to do it sooner rather than later.
"Put it this way, I want to be on a beach come the second week in May with the family, not playing in the play-offs," Bothroyd told the Echo.
The former Wolves striker believes City can do enough in the last four games to make 2nd place and take that automatic promotion spot.
City are 4 points behind Birmingham but with 1 game in hand.
"I still believe we can make the top two, if fact the whole team are confident we can do it," Bothrod continued.
"Obviously four straight wins will do it I feel, but now I think three wins and draw will be enough to snatch that second place.
"But if we have to go through the play-offs then so be it because this Cardiff side does not fear anyone in the Championship.
"In fact, clubs will fear us and want to avoid us at all costs, not the other way around."
