Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Anthony Pilkington and Sean Morrison (right) should be Cardiff City players today.
Pilkington, a winger from Norwich and Morrison, a centre half from Reading have had medicals and were hoping to be signed in time to be in contention to play against Huddersfield tomorrow.
Both names have come out of the blue this week and the capture of Morrison especially is crucial with the news that Ben Turner is set to be out for three months after having ankle surgery.
Morrison asked Reading for permission to speak to Cardiff and the Royals boss Nigel Adkins reluctantly agreed.
“Sean came to see me and said he wanted to speak to Cardiff", said Adkins.
“He saw the director of football (Nick Hammond) as well to reiterate what he said to me.
“So via agents, a lot of things have been said.
“All through the transfer window players become unsettled, history tells us that.
“This is when they can move, be bought or sold. It’s great for the public’s point of view when you can see it all going on. It’s quite entertaining.
“But for us it is disruptive. It’s the reality of football.
“I’m a very positive person and we will deal with this. Our morale will remain high.”
