Bluebirds go head to head with Wales

Cardiff City's opening day fixture switch has resulted in the Carling Cup tie against Burton Albion being moved to Wednesday August 11th, ko 7:45pm.

That Wednesday is a designated international friendly date and Wales are playing Luxembourg at Llanelli.

Cardiff, unlike previous years, are unlikely to have too many players available for Wales selection but it will leave some fans with split loyalties.

Last years Carling Cup 1st round tie at the CCS v Dagenham attracted just under 6,000 fans. The last Wales game at Llanelli against Estonia in May 2009 brought in just over 4,000 supporters.

The Wales game is less than one month from the opening Euro 2012 qualifying match away in Montenegro on September 3rd.
