City stopped the rot with a point against Sunderland. After three defeats in a row on the road a point at the Stadium of Light, against a Sunderland team that have won the last 4 games there, was a good result.

City held their own in the first half with the best chance falling to Andy Campbell who shot straight at keeper Poom.

City defended for most of the second half but restricted to Sunderland to a series of half chances.

The match stats show 14 attempts from Sunderlabnd to City's 3. Cardiff had three players booked.

Rhys Weston as carried off on 36 mins and replaced by Gary Croft. Later on Robinson went off for Bonner and Campbell was subbed for Julian Gray to make his debut with 8 mins to play.

City have to move onto Coventry for Saturdays live Sky game with only a  win in mind.

Cardiff are in 13th place, midway between the play offs and relegation. 3 points against the Sky Blues are essential. The following week we entertain West Ham, also on Sky, we must get points in the bag.

Tonight was the first game I've missed this season, I get nervous at the games where I can see what's going on. Listening to the commentary tonight was torture. I've never been so grateful to hear a final whistle.

Tonights result will be even better if we follow it up with a win on Saturday.
