Birmingham v Cardiff City. Match preview

C:WindowsTempphp2071.tmpBen Turner could be in line for a return to first team action today as cover for injury doubt Bruno Manga.

Manga injured a calf in Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Bolton.

West Ham loanee Ravel Morrison, a second-half substitute at the Macron Stadium, is doubtful with a knee problem.

Cardiff have to address their away form which has seen no wins on the road this season and desperately disappointing defeats at Bolton, Millwall and Blackpool in the last three games.

Russell Slade said on Friday about the sides poor showings away from CCS.

"They (the players) will roll their sleeves up and work for the team. We have to ensure we can get results we need going forward.

"Clearly, the mindset of being away should not be an issue. There is the mental side and then the issue of ensuring we are not soft, not easy to play against away.

"We must be solid and resillient. When we lose the ball it must not be just the goalkeeper and back four defending. We all have to defend."

After winning just once in a whole year at St Andrews Birmingham produced a shock win over high flying Watford in midweek. That followed a creditable 0 - 0 draw at Wolves last weekend. Under new manager Gary Rowett the Blues have found some belief.

Slade may change from his rigid 4 - 4 - 2 formation which has not produced anything away from home. No goals and no points so far. But at home City have won all three matches.

"I am thinking of changes at Birmingham," said the boss. "It’s been on my mind, thinking through what I might be able to do."
