Bellamy back for Bluebirds

But it's Jay Bothroyd the home side will be more in fear of.

Bothroyd has accumulated 13 goals in 15 appearances for City this season and along with Bellamy, Burke, Chopra and Whittingham forms part of the most formidable attacks in the Championship.

It's reported that Jay is close to an England call up so he's going to be up for the challenge against Scunthorpe.

Kevin McNaughton and Gabor Gyepes both missed the Reading game through injury and both will be assessed ahead of the match. Steve McPhail maybe the one to make way for Bellamy's return.

Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough will assess the fitness of defender Rob Jones ahead of the home clash with Cardiff.

The towering centre-back could be back in contention against the Bluebirds after missing the last four games with a broken bone in his hand.

David Mirfin has been ruled out for several weeks with a foot injury and Jones' return to contention would boost an Iron side that have won just once on home soil this season.

Mirfin is out for another month with a foot injury but winger Garry Thompson is expected to be available again after a recent groin injury.

Defender Jim McNulty is nursing an ankle injury and the visit of the promotion-chasing Bluebirds may come too soon.

Scunny will though have new signing Dany N'Guessan available after a loan move from Leicester City.
