Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti says a decision has yet to be made over whether captain John Terry will take time off to focus on his private life.Reports have suggested Terry will miss Saturday's FA Cup tie with Cardiff to be with his wife and children in Dubai.
But Ancelotti said he will discuss the issue with Terry after the Premier League clash with Everton on Wednesday.
Terry, 29, was sacked as England captain after claims he had an affair with a former team-mate's girlfriend.
Ancelotti has publicly backed his skipper, who was outstanding in the 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday which sent Chelsea back to the top of the table.
The Italian coach said he had no issue with Terry taking leave, but was keen to focus on the trip to Goodison Park.
"We have spoken and we will take the decision together after the Everton game to see if he needs to rest two days or if he wants to stay here and play against Cardiff," Ancelotti said.
"He has not asked for any time off to see his wife. My preference is what he wants. I am totally supportive of him. We will make the decision together.
"We want to respect the FA Cup because it is an important trophy in this country so we will speak after the game against Everton and make the decision, the right one for us both.
"The FA Cup and John's marriage are different; FA Cup is professional, the other thing is private."
Terry's private life has come in for media scrutiny since it was alleged he had an affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-girlfriend of former Blues colleague Wayne Bridge.
Terry's wife Toni Poole has since flown to Dubai with their twin sons to escape the media storm.
