Bournemouth led at the break thanks to a thumping shot from Scott Malone early in the match. Anthony Gerrard was subbed after a few minutes after getting a cut on his head that required treatment. Dekel Keinan came on.

Taylor got his goal just three minutes later after a good City move and when Whittingham hit the post with a fine effort things were improving for Cardiff. The second half was better but the game ended 2 - 1 after lots of substitutions including Filip Kiss coming on for his debut. Tom Heaton was the only player not to come off the bench today and he will start at Yeovil on Tuesday.
